of course i’d like to be a magnum photographer, but i don’t really feel like a photographer. i use a camera like a golden pen. i try to write with light what cannot be written with ink. or the other way around. but light goes a long way, so maybe not the other way around.

i have two sons and a dog. i think eating is an ethical act and i think god is hiding somewhere close. maybe in alaska?

i fight ideology and take a special interest in people’s beliefs. i’d like to win two nobel prizes, and the only ones i still get a shot at are the writing one and the peace one. still, i don’t write easy, so sometimes i am very bitter.

i believe language and thinking should not always be equated, but if we like thinking, we should choose our words like they are: thinking, not words. in other words, too much words will kill ya.

i once wrote a book on advertising (not even close to the nobel for literature!)
